Lemon Lactation

Trauma-informed lactation care for bereavement, loss, and the babies who follow.

Whether you are navigating the heavy physical reminder of milk arriving after a loss, or holding a new baby while holding the memory of the one you lost—you do not have to navigate this pain, or this anxiety, alone.

Here, you will find a soft place to land. I offer gentle, virtual consultations tailored to your unique journey, whether we are focusing on comfortable milk suppression, sacred donation, or building a confident feeding relationship with your subsequent baby.

To ensure the highest quality of trauma-informed care, my private virtual consultations are currently limited. For immediate, affordable guidance and step-by-step clinical resources on managing lactation after a loss, please explore our comprehensive Lactation & Loss course.

Your body remembers. We honor that memory, while protecting your health.

The medical system often abandons a family the moment a loss occurs, leaving them to navigate the complex postpartum physical reality in the dark. Whether you are currently experiencing the physical shock of a recent miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss, or you are navigating the complex emotions of feeding a subsequent baby after a previous loss—your body remembers.

These transitions can be confusing, emotionally devastating, and physically painful.

I am here to bridge the gap between medical protocols and the raw reality of grief. I am Lauren Musso, RN, BSN, IBCLC with Lemon Lactation—providing a dedicated, fully virtual sanctuary of specialized clinical lactation care.

As a bereavement-trained, grief-informed practitioner with a deep clinical background in supporting NICU and medically complex infants, I am here to hold your heart in gentle safety while expertly guiding your physical care.

I'll be honest. This one can be tough.

  • Best for: Families who wish to attempt coverage through their provider network. Some insurances approve up to six visits, others have barriers to care, and others deny care entirely.

  • The Reality: Unfortunately, the faults of our current medical system mean that some insurance plans approve bereavement lactation care, while others do not. It is entirely out of our control, but I want to keep this option open as we navigate a challenging system together.

  • How you get it: Click the link to submit your insurance details through a secure portal. They will run a  verification check and notify you via email on whether your plan approves the care.
